Equipment characteristics
The raw water enters the inside of the filter through the water inlet pipe, and is evenly distributed by the water distributor, and the filter material layer flows upward and reversely and is discharged outside. In this process, the raw water is filtered, and the content of pollutants in the water decreases; meanwhile, the content of pollutants in the quartz sand filter material increases, and the content of pollutants in the lower filter material layer is higher than that in the upper filter material. The air lift pump located in the center of the filter lifts the bottom quartz sand filter material to the sand washer on the top of the filter for cleaning under the action of the air compressor. After cleaning, the filter sand is returned to the filter bed, and the pollutants generated by the cleaning are discharged outside.
Since the quartz sand filter material is moving from top to bottom in the filter, it acts on the raw water, so the stirring flocculation can be completed in the filter. The filter material in the filter is clean and timely, and can withstand a higher concentration of influent pollutants. The special internal structure of the continuous flow sand filter and its own characteristics can make the coagulation, clarification and filtration all in the same tank.

It is different from the previous fixed-bed filter, it does not need to stop backwashing, continuous operation; save electricity, save operating costs; stable water quality after filtration.
When the continuous sand filter is used for filtering, the raw water is supplied by the high-level water tank, and then enters from the annular water distribution pipe at the bottom of the filter. It folds evenly into the filter bed through the internal conical water channel. The suspended matter in the raw water is trapped on the filter bed, and the clean water is discharged from the overflow weir at the top. The type and nature of the raw water are different, and the sand used for the filter is also different. Usually, natural homogeneous quartz sea sand with 0.8 ~ 1.2mm and uniformity coefficient of 1.4 is selected.
While filtering, the quartz sand that trapped the pollutants was lifted to the top sand washing device (three-phase separator) by the air stripping device at the bottom for cleaning. The power used for sand extraction is compressed air, and the pressure is generally 0.5 ~ 0.7MPa. Due to the violent friction of water, sand and compressed air in the sand lifting tube, the debris trapped by the sand is eluted. The washed sand returns to the filter bed from the top in the sand washer due to gravity, and the sand washing water is discharged through a separate pipeline to complete the entire continuous cycle of sand washing and filtering process.
