A wet electrostatic precipitator(WESP) is a high-voltage electrostatic precipitator used to treat humid gas. It is mainly used to remove dust, acid mist, water droplets, aerosols, odors, PM2.5 and other harmful substances in humid gas. Ideal equipment for atmospheric dust pollution.
The basic principle of wet electrostatic precipitator(WESP) is the same as that of dry electrostatic precipitator. It has to go through three stages of charging, collecting and cleaning.
Tens of thousands of volts of DC high voltage is applied between the anode and cathode wires of the wet electrostatic precipitator(WESP). Under the action of a strong electric field, a corona layer is generated around the corona wire, and the air in the corona layer undergoes avalanche ionization, thereby producing A large number of negative ions and a small amount of positive ions, this process is called corona discharge; the dust (fog) particles that enter the wet electrostatic precipitator(WESP) with the flue gas collide with these positive and negative ions and are charged, and the charged dust (fog) Due to the Coulomb force of the high-voltage electrostatic field, the particles move toward the anode; after reaching the anode, the charge is released, and the dust (fog) particles are collected by the anode, and the dust is collected to form a water film, which is self-cleaning by gravity or washing. It flows up to the lower liquid accumulation tank or absorption tower, and is separated from the flue gas.
Wet electrostatic precipitator(WESP) system composition
1. Anode tube group (module)
Anode tube bundle group is made of inscribed circle Ø360 regular hexagon. The anode tube is made of flame-retardant glass fiber reinforced plastic, which has good integrity, high strength, and high concentricity and parallelism of the anode tube.

2. Cathode system
Cathode system includes cathode corona wire and cathode wire supporting integral cathode wire fixing frame and connecting bolts;
The cathode wire is in the form of X, which improves the specific current and electric field strength, and its effectiveness and corrosion resistance can meet the requirements of the new wet dust removal device.
The cathode wire is made of lead-antimony alloy. The cathode wire is fixed on the upper and lower frames, and the frame is supported by an insulating box. The suspension rod in the insulation box is supported by quartz tubes, and the cathode device is kept in a dry and insulated state with the anode and the tower body at all times by passing hot air into the insulation box
3.Insulator room and high voltage inlet box
The power supply area of the wet dust removal device is on the top of the tower, equipped with an independent insulator box. The insulation box uses large-diameter porcelain sleeves and special sealing materials. The top cover and cylinder body of the insulation box are insulated with aluminum silicate fiber, which makes the insulation of the box more reliable and energy-saving.
4. Flushing water system
The upper part of the anode tube is equipped with an intermittent spray device, and the clean water of the process pool is used to wash the anode tube and the mist eliminator. According to actual operating conditions, flush for 5 minutes every 24 hours. The flushing water and the flushing material directly enter the circulating pool of the absorption tower.
5. Electric heating system
Because the dust collector operates under positive pressure, in order to prevent condensation and pollution of the insulator. An electric heater is installed in the insulation box to ensure the reliability of the insulation of the insulator. The insulator box is equipped with a heating device and a temperature automatic control device, heating uniformly, temperature detection is accurate, can effectively prevent mist from entering the insulating box, and prevent moisture condensation, and there is a certain maintenance space.

Treatment effect
The wet electrostatic precipitator(WESP) can effectively collect fine particles (PM dust, SO acid mist, aerosol), heavy metals (Hg, As, Se, Pb, Cr), organic pollutants (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxins), etc. After using a wet electrostatic precipitator(WESP), the emission of dust in the moist flue gas can reach 10mg/m or even below 5mg/m. The dust collection performance has nothing to do with the dust characteristics. It is suitable for the treatment of moist flue gas, especially in power plants and steel plants. Treatment of dusty flue gas after method desulfurization.
