Oct 13,2018
Dawasa is planning to build three new sewage treatment plants in Dashi in order to protect the environment and improve the sewage system, hoping to control waste water discharge and improve the ecological environment around the coast of Dawasa, the Citizen Daily and the Daily News reported on August 30.
Mwang, chief executive of the Dashi Sewage Treatment Plant, said the new sewage treatment plant will be built on Jangwani, Kurasini and Mobezi beaches. The new water treatment project will cost $600 million and is expected to start at the end of this year and substantially improve Tanzania's sewage treatment capacity by 2020. In addition, it is planned to move submarine sewers from the ocean to Jangwani's new sewage treatment plant, which is expected to handle 200,000 tons of water a day, to reduce pollution.
According to the plan, three sewage treatment plants will generate electricity through biological media to ensure their own electricity demand, and the treated water will be used for urban greening, agricultural irrigation and so on.https://www.khnwatertreatment.com/
