DuPont's acquisition of ultrafiltration membrane business
In September 24th, the security and Construction Department announced that the two sides had signed an agreement to sell their ultrafiltration membrane business to DuPont. The transaction has yet to be approved by relevant departments and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
The scope of the divestiture includes the German joint-stock shares, the international sales team responsible for the related businesses, the business headquarters and production base in the German group, and the relevant intellectual property rights currently owned by the European company. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Anup Kothari, President of BASF's specialty chemicals business, said: "Ying Ge team has performed well, and constantly optimizes ultrafiltration membrane technology. It has become a leader in the field of water purification. Unfortunately, the business failed to produce enough synergy with BASF. I believe DuPont, a strategic buyer, will tap its strong potential and create more value and support it after acquiring the ultrafiltration membrane business.
"As a global leader in innovative water treatment solutions, we have been looking for solutions to help our customers solve water challenges around the world," said Rose Lee, president of DuPont's safety and construction department. This Ultrafiltration Membrane Technology, together with a qualified team of experts, will further expand our product portfolio and enhance our ability to create customized integrated solutions for global applications of drinking water, industry and wastewater treatment.
