China embarks on the long march of environmental protection
In my first year of studying in China, I met an African student who was majoring in architecture at that time. From the conversation, I felt that he was full of passion in the field of architecture. He has been in China for five years and witnessed the rapid development of China in a short time. He said he would often take pictures of open spaces and then take another one in a few months. To his surprise, many empty spaces were occupied by towering commercial buildings or residential areas. I can't forget this story for a long time. I've been with me till now, because I'm glad that I have the opportunity to witness the take-off of this giant dragon.
China's infrastructure construction is second to none in the world. In addition, I also observed that China has made great contributions to the development of renewable energy technology in the world. Taking high-speed rail is an extraordinary experience because our country doesn't have one at all, but I'm particularly surprised by the scene outside the train. I saw a lot of solar panels on the vast land outside the window, which made everyone laugh. At that moment, I realized what the Chinese government had done to improve people's lives and fight against climate change. I used to be an assistant researcher of a climate change project in my home country, so I am full of awe for China, and learn more about China's energy conservation and emission reduction situation and achievements.
China is determined and able to become a leading power in energy-saving technology in the next few years, so as to realize the global vision of zero carbon emissions. According to the report of the Institute of energy and economics, China's foreign investment in new energy and related technology research and development has increased significantly, a trend that is developing rapidly overseas. Of the six largest solar cell manufacturers in the world, five are in China, while the world's largest wind turbine manufacturer, the largest lithium battery manufacturer and the largest power company are all in China. China also actively promotes the transformation from coal industry to clean energy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Environmental pollution not only plagues China, but also damages its international reputation, but we can't blame it. With the continuous development of China's economy, we have reason to believe that China can solve the problem of climate change through innovation and technology. How ironic is the double standard that some people accuse China of serious pollution while selectively ignoring the fact that China is the largest cycling country. In addition, the number of cyclists has been increasing in recent years, sharing bicycles is convenient and fast, and people are encouraged to ride out. I believe that electric bicycles and electric vehicles will certainly reduce pollution, so other developing countries should follow suit. The Chinese government has also taken other measures, such as introducing new buses and cars that use hydrogen fuel. Through clean technology, hydrogen fuel reacts with oxygen, bringing enough energy for cars. As a result, these cars will not bring any greenhouse gases.
I believe that as a responsible and responsible country, China will take more actions to deal with climate change. China used to be one of the largest carbon emitters in the world, which is undeniable, but as an excellent nation, China is taking the lead in saving itself and the world from climate change. Our generation still has the hope to develop renewable energy and establish a clean environment, and the hope is just beyond this high-speed train, in the land of China in front of my eyes.
