Treatment of wastewater from Ginkgo ketone production

Ginkgo biloba leaves can produce ginkgo ketone, which is a good medicine for softening heart and brain blood vessels and reducing blood lipid. Generally, 3 tons of Ginkgo biloba leaves are consumed for each kg of Ginkgo biloba ketone produced. A large number of residues mixed with the additives added in the production process are discharged, and the CODcr concentration of the most polluted ginkgo ketone wastewater is more than 8.54 × 104 mg / L.

Source of wastewater

Ginkgo ketone production wastewater belongs to alcohol extraction wastewater with single component in Chinese patent medicine. It comes from equipment cleaning, column regeneration, acid and alkali washing, evaporation condensate, etc. The wastewater contains ethanol, amino acid, plant fiber, fatty matter, chlorophyll and NaOH.

The comprehensive wastewater ρ (CODcr) can reach 3.02 × 104mg / L, m (BOD5) / M (CODcr) = 0.33-0.38, with general biochemical property

Treatment process

Ginkgo biloba wastewater contains plant fiber and fatty matter of Ginkgo biloba leaves. It has strong biological stability and is not easy to be biodegraded. At the same time, the comprehensive wastewater of the whole plant contains the acid wastewater from the boiler house. Therefore, with pH adjustment and combined with coagulating sedimentation process, the plant fiber and fatty matter in the wastewater are firstly removed, which has the effect of chemical hydrolysis. The UASB influent concentration is reduced by more than half, and the CODcr mass concentration can be reduced to below 1114mg / L.

The main soluble components in wastewater are ethanol, amino acid, chlorophyll, etc., which are easy to be biodegraded. Therefore, UASB technology, which is widely used in high concentration wastewater treatment in pharmaceutical industry, is selected, and a 2m high combined filler is placed in the middle and upper part of UASB pool to form an anaerobic composite bed.

The push flow delayed contact oxidation tank is used as the end treatment process of the effluent.
