The treatment method of air flotation and the use of coagulant
Aug 23,2021
Air flotation is actually a treatment method. This treatment method will form tiny bubbles in the water. Such bubbles can adhere well to the wastewater and directly form a mixed system of particles, air and water. After the bubbles are formed, flocs with a density less than that of water will form on the surface and then float to the surface of the water, eventually forming a scum layer which is scraped off.
Air flotation will produce relatively large fine bubbles in the air-containing system, so that the bubbles will be attached to suspended particles. The density of these particles is less than that of water. This is because we can use the principle of buoyancy to make it attached to the water surface. In this way, the solid-liquid separation water treatment equipment can be directly formed.
Air flotation can also be directly divided into vortex-concave type, advection type and super-efficiency shallow type. Nowadays, sewage and industrial wastewater treatment in cities will be applied to such equipment. The main advantages of the equipment are the small footprint and The investment cost is relatively low, and the automation of the entire equipment is relatively good, which is convenient for operation and management.
The surface of air-floating suspended matter is hydrophobic and hydrophilic. The hydrophobic surface is prone to adhering bubbles, so the air-floatation method can be used, and the hydrophilic particles can be appropriately applied with chemicals during use. After the treatment, it can be directly converted to hydrophobicity.
When air flotation is processed in water, coagulants are often used, which can directly agglomerate colloidal particles into flocs. Such flocs have a certain network structure and are very prone to trapped air bubbles, which can be improved to a large extent . The air flotation efficiency of the product, if there are surfactants in the water, such as frequently used detergents, it can directly form its foam, and it will also attach suspended particles to rise together.
In fact, the air floatation method is also known as the dispersed air method, which is mainly to effectively set the micropores at the bottom for effective diffusion. The compressed air in the equipment will directly escape on the surface of the board or tube in the form of smiling bubbles. Out of the water and the impeller is installed at the bottom of the pool, the axle is perpendicular to the water surface.
