The role and classification of mechanical grilles
Jan 03,2022
1) The mechanical grille is a frame composed of a set of parallel metal strips, which are placed obliquely on the water inlet channel or at the inlet of the collecting tank of the pump station to intercept larger floating pollutants in the sewage and prevent the water pump pipeline from being blocked. In most sewage treatment projects, grilles are necessary equipment. 2) The power grid is one of the simple devices in the operation and maintenance of all water equipment. According to the cleaning method of dirt, it can be divided into manual cleaning grid and mechanical cleaning grid.
(1) The artificial grill mainly adopts manual removal of the dirt trapped on the grill in time to prevent the gap of the grill from being blocked. In small and medium-sized sewage treatment stations, the amount of pollutants to be intercepted is generally small, so manual removal grids are installed. This kind of grille is made of straight steel bars and placed at an inclination angle of 500~600 °, the effective grille area can be increased by 40%~80% , which is convenient for cleaning and reduces faucet damage.
(2) Large-scale sewage treatment plants are equipped with mechanical cleaning grilles. The grilles are generally arranged at 600 to 700 ° to the water surface, and sometimes at 900 °. There are three transmission systems of grille decontamination machines : electric transmission, hydraulic transmission and hydraulic transmission. In engineering applications, transmission grids are common.
3) According to the spacing of the grid bars, the grid is usually divided into two basic types: coarse grid and fine grid. Generally, coarse grids are installed in the sump of the pumping station, and fine grids are installed in front of the grit chamber. According to the water treatment process, the grid is generally set according to the principle of first thick and then thin, and the spacing of the grid bars is determined according to the quality of the wastewater.
