Several Basic Elements of Sedimentation Tank

The inflow of inclined-tube sedimentation tank for high-concentration organic wastewater usually enters from the lower part of inclined-plate tube layer, then flows downward and upwards through inclined-plate tube to settle suspended particles on the bottom of inclined-plate tube. After accumulating to a certain extent, it slides down to the bottom of inclined-plate tube, and then drains out of the collecting tank by perforated tube or overflows from triangular weir. The following are the basic elements of inclined tube sedimentation tank:

_The vertical clearance of inclined plate is generally 80 mm, and the diameter of 120 mm inclined tube is 50 mm and 80 mm. The inclined tube length is generally 1.0, and the inclination angle of 1.2m is generally 60o. The upper water depth and the bottom buffer height of the inclined tube are generally 0.5 and 1.0 M.

(2) The upper end of the inclined plate should be inclined to the inlet end of the sedimentation tank. In order to prevent short-circuit of water flow, a baffle should be installed at the gap between the wall of the pool and the inclined plate.

(3) Water intake modes are usually equipped with water distribution rectifier and water distribution device. The flow velocity of perforated water distribution plate and slotted water distribution plate are generally lower than 0.15m/s. In general, the way of collecting water is to set up several catchment troughs on the surface of the pool. The way of collecting water in the catchment trough is hole-hole type or triangular weir type.

(5) Sludge is usually discharged 12 times a day by gravity after collecting sludge in inclined plate tube sedimentation tank, or the frequency of discharging sludge is increased or even continuously discharged according to specific conditions.

(5) The hydraulic residence time of the primary clarifier is generally not more than 30 minutes, and that of the secondary clarifier is generally not more than 60 minutes.

(5) The inclined-plate-tube sedimentation tank must be equipped with facilities for flushing inclined-plate-tube. Flushing can completely flush the sludge accumulated in the inclined-plate-tube with high-pressure water during overhaul or temporary shutdown, and clean high-concentration organic wastewater to prevent sludge from clogging the inclined-plate-tube and affecting the sedimentation effect.
