After coagulation, the treated water enters the inlet area of the sedimentation tank, and there are distribution channels and perforated walls in the inlet area. The function of the water distribution holes on the wall of the distribution canal is to distribute the water evenly over the width of the whole pool, and the function of the perforated wall is to distribute the water evenly over the section of the whole pool. In order to ensure the uniform water distribution of perforated walls, the perforation rate of perforated walls should be 6% - 8% of the cross-section area, and the diameter of perforated walls should be about 125 mm. Distribution holes are trumpet-shaped along the direction of water flow. The velocity of orifice flow is within 0.2-0.3 m/s. The top row of orifices is submerged at 12-15 cm below the water surface. The bottom row of orifices is 0.3-0.5 m above the sludge area so as not to flush the settled sludge up again.
