Classification and Application of Filter Material
1. The commonly used filter materials include quartz sand, anthracite, ore and manufactured ceramic filter materials, ceramic particles, fibre balls, plastic particles, polystyrene foam balls, etc. The basic principles for selecting filter media are as follows:
(a) It is harmless to the human body;
B) Strong adsorption capacity, strong pollution interception ability, good quality of filtered effluent, long working cycle and high water yield;
C) having sufficient mechanical strength;
D) Good chemical stability;
E) Local materials, cheap prices and sufficient supply.
2. Refer to CJ / T43 for technical requirements, inspection methods and paving methods of filter materials.
3. The particle size range, effective particle size (d10), uniformity coefficient (K60) or non-uniformity coefficient (K80) of the filter material are determined by the treatment requirements.
4. The technical requirements and inspection methods of natural manganese sand filter material can be implemented with reference to CJ/T3041.
5. The total porosity of ceramsite filter material should be 65%-70%.
6. The technical requirements and inspection methods of anthracite filter material can be executed with reference to CJ24.2.
7. The technical requirements of manufactured ceramic filter material, ceramic granule, fibre ball, plastic granule and polystyrene foam ball should be determined according to the user's requirements and referring to the technical indicators of the manufacturer.
