Appropriate dosage of flocculant for sewage treatment

Sewage flocculant is needed in the treatment of domestic sewage and industrial wastewater by flocculation settling clarification and sludge dewatering. Wastewater flocculant dosage has always been a topic of concern for sewage treatment plants, so how much is the dosage of sewage flocculant? The dosage of sewage flocculant should be determined according to the pollutants in the sewage. If the SS content is too high, the dosage will be larger.

Secondly, the amount of flocculant used in sewage treatment in different industries is also very different. Is it domestic sewage? Or industrial wastewater such as paper mills, dyeing and printing plants, plating plants, iron and steel plants, pharmaceutical plants, leather factories, alcohol factories, food factories, power plants, chemical factories? The types of flocculants used in sewage treatment in different industries are also very different. For example, domestic sewage is directly added with PAM flocculant, chemical plant sewage needs PAC with PAM flocculant. Generally speaking, the dosage of PAM flocculant in wastewater flocculation and sedimentation treatment is about several grams; if PAC flocculant is needed, the dosage of PAC is several grams, and the usage of PAM can be saved. When the sewage is treated by sludge separation, dewatering and pressure filtration, the amount of PAM flocculant is larger, because the concentration of sludge is higher.

The specific dosage of sewage flocculant can be determined by titration.

1. Firstly, all kinds of wastewater flocculants were diluted according to the requirements and prepared into standard solution.

2. Take a certain amount of water samples and titrate them with the above-mentioned sewage flocculants, and get a preliminary evaluation.

3. Before titration, it may be necessary to adjust the PH value and so on, or even dilute the raw water.

4. Each flocculant will have its own dosage. That is to say, when the dosage exceeds a certain extent, the decontamination effect will not increase if the dosage is increased.

5. After determining the dosage, we can set up more than two kinds of parallel experiments.
